Currently the Arthouse Hostel in Launceston has a Reception position open. The position will be 4-5 days per week, 6-7 hours per shift in Summer, and 3-5 hours per shift during Winter. This is an 'immediate start' position, with training starting as early as the day after the successful interview!

This position will suit anyone of any age or gender that has a young-at-heart attitude, confidence and a solid work ethic. The successful applicant will have to be a people person and be tolerant of different accents, nationalities, customs, cultures and religeous beliefs.

Reception experience is essential, as is experience in tourism (please understand that Hospitality is not necessarily Tourism). Experience using ROS2006 is preferred, or any other reservation system experience will be valuable to the applicant. Also, experience in a position working alone will be helpful.

The position is as a Receptionist, which entails the usual tasks. Meet and greet, showing people to thier room, storing luggage, taking payment, organising housekeeping, etc. In addition to the usual tasks, basically any task required to ensure the smooth running of the hostel will be expected of the Receptionist. These tasks encompass things like housekeeping, removing rubbish, looking after the worm farm, changing light globes, weeding, cleaning, tidying, etc.

The pay rate and conditions are prescribed by the appropriate Award. The Award will be discussed at the interview and all staff are encouraged to understand the Award, it's entitlements and conditions.

The Arthouse is located at 20 Lindsay Street, Inveresk. Feel free to come along and have a look, but please do not interupt the staff for too long because they are extremely busy.
